Yolanda Huertas, 72 of New Haven died peacefully on Friday, May 14 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. Yolanda was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico on February 14, 1949, a daughter of Lidia Perreira of Comerio and the late Nicholas Huertas. She had resided in New Haven for the past thirty one years. Yolanda is survived by two daughters, Vivian (Edwin Santos) Pérez of Cidra, Puerto Rico and Yazmin Pérez of North Haven, four sons, Miguel (Brenda) Pérez of Naugatuck, José (Amneris Morales) Pérez of Kissimmee, FL, Nelson (Yamaira) Pérez of Hamden and Jonathan (Maria) Pérez of New London, three sisters, Maritza Huertas and Wanda (Michael Maldonado) Huertas of Comerio and Lilybelle Huertas of Boston, MA, four brothers, Josián (Urie) Huertas of Puerto Rico, Luís (Luz) Huertas of Hartford, Rafael (Beatriz Villegas) Huertas of Boston and Rene (Nilda Olivera) Huertas of New Haven, twenty one grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one sister, Norma Huertas, and one brother, Nelson Huertas. Yolanda's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 20th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Iglesia Cristiana Estrella Resplandeciente de Jacob (Radiant Star of Jacob Christian Church), 185 Chapel St., New Haven. A funeral service will take place at the church on Friday, May 21st at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
