Victor M. Cochran, Sr., 78, of New Haven, CT died peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Luz Maria Laboy Cochran. Victor was born in Patillas, Puerto Rico on July 21, 1945, a son of the late Alejo Cochran and the late Lina Velázquez, and had resided in New Haven for the past sixty three years. He was a machine operator for The BILCO Door Company of West haven for eighteen years, retiring in 2008. In addition to his beloved wife Luz, Victor is survived by two sons, Victor M. (Toni) Cochran, Jr. of East Haven and Victor M. Cochran of New Haven, one grandson, Victor Alexander Cochran of Florida, six sisters, Carmen (José) Gotay of New Haven, and Ada (Francisco Rodríguez) Cochran, Ligia, Raquel, Yolanda and Judith Cochran of Puerto Rico, four brothers, Arcadio, José, Geraldo and Rafael Cochran of Puerto Rico, and many loving nieces and nephews, including Quetcy Maldonado of New Haven, cousins and friends. Victor's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 31st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place a the funeral home on Thursday, February 1st at 11:00 a.m., the Rev. Hector Rengel officiating.
