Tomas Bonilla Rivera, 60, of New Haven died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Tomas was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico on September 18, 1961, a son of the late Hilario and Maria Matilde Bonilla, and had resided in New Haven for the past fifty three years. He worked as a security guard at the former South Central Community College, New Haven for several years, retiring in 1995. Tomas is survived by seven sisters, Sophia (Modesto) Rivera of Hamden, Amparo (German) Velázquez of Conway, SC, Edith Bonilla of New Haven, Angela (Julio) Lleras of Cidra, Puerto Rico, Juana Rivera and Matilda Bonilla of West Haven and Luz Nereida Pagán of Albany, NY, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two sisters, Gladys Bonilla and Carmen Iris Bonilla. A graveside service will take place on Friday, May 6th at 11:00 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, 769 Ella Grasso Blvd., New Haven.
