Thomas J. DesMarais

Thomas J. DesMarais, of Hamden died peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Yale-New haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Hind Djedidi. Tom was born in St. Louis Park, Minnesota on May 13, 1967, a son of the late Leroy and Joyce Peterka DesMarais. He proudly served his country for four years with the U.S. Navy, and lived most of his life in Minnesota, but after the service he moved to many destinations for work. Amongst the various places he resided,  he spent several years of his life in Goodlittsville, TN, Atlanta, GA, and Hollywodd, FL. He had lived in Connecticut for the past nine years, and Hamden for the past three. For the past three years, he was the manager at Monroe Mufflers of Hamden. In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by a daughter, Taylor DesMarais of Portland, TN, a son, Nicholas DesMarais and his wife Madison of Lebanon, TN, one sister, Ann Smitherman and one brother, Mike DesMarais of Bloomington, MN, and a grandson, Cayden DesMarais. He was predeceased by three brothers, Ed, Tim and Joe DesMarais. A graveside service with military honors will take place on Monday, July 19th at 2:30 p.m. at New Center Cemetery, North Haven.
