Theodore Quale

Theodore Quale, (Ted), 90, born September 29th, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY died peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2021 at The Saybrook at Haddam. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Carol Quale. He met Carol in his early 20’s at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital where he was having surgery and she was his nurse. He liked to joke that he chased her for four years until she finally caught him! Ted and Carol moved to Bronxville, NY to Norwalk, CT and then to North Haven, CT where they raised their family. Ted had a successful career, first in banking, and then in radio. He was part founder and owner of WCDQ, for which he took great pride. He then started his own publishing company, which led him to run several TV guide franchises and a direct mail franchising business. He absolutely loved this work and particularly enjoyed interacting with his many customers each day. But by far his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ted and Carol loved to travel and logged 49 cruises in their lifetime. They loved spending time in their winter home in Palm Harbor, FL and travelling with the family to Lake Placid, NY and to Peru, NY where they would visit with Carol’s family. He and Carol also spent many wonderful years enjoying weekends on their houseboat in Clinton Yacht Haven. Ted is survived by his children and grandchildren who loved him dearly: His son Chris and wife Ruth of Higganum, CT, his son Bob and wife Tracy, of Chester, CT, his daughter Sarah and husband Tim of Hamden, CT and his 4 grandchildren, Dakota and Vanessa Morgan, and Maaren and MaiLi Quale. In addition, he will be greatly missed by Carol’s loving family. A  memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 27th, at Faith United Methodist Church, 81 Clintonville Rd., North Haven, CT.
