Teresa Ortíz

Teresa Ortíz, 89, of West Haven, CT, formerly of New Haven, CT died peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Apple Rehab, West Haven. She was the beloved wife of the late Domitilo Solís. Teresa was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico on October 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Tomás Ortíz and the late Santos Morales and had resided in New Haven for most of her life before moving to West Haven sixteen years ago. She is survived by one daughter, Nellie Pabón of New Britain, two sons, Noel (Diana) Solís and David (Marilyn) Solís of Redding, PA, three sisters, Tomasita (Che) Torres of Aibonito, PR, Carmen Ortíz of Junco, PR and Emma (Alfonso) García of Manuabo, PR, twelve grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her son Ivan Solís, one sister, Matlide García and two brothers, Jesús and Benito Ortíz. Teresa's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, March 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, March 6th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
