Souhir R. Boutrus, 74 of Wallingford died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Sunday, July 25, 2021 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Raouf Gawargy. Souhir was born in Luxor, Egypt on September 10, 1946, a daughter of the late Romy Abadir and the late Kamila Mikahil, and was a devout Orthodox Coptic Christian. She came to the United States in 2007, and had resided in Wallingford for the past fourteen years. Souhir was an insurance agent for the Egyptian government for more than thirty years, retiring in 2007. She is survived by a daughter, Neveen (Ehab) Fathey of Quena, Egypt, two sons, Sam (Molly) Gaworgy of Wallingford and Hany (Georgina) Gawargy of Cairo, Egypt, one sister, Hoda (Edward) Georgi of Ontario, Canada, one brother, Naeim (Molly) Potros of Milford, ten grandchildren, Ella, Asher, Owen and Shiloh Gaworgy, Emy, Shaddy and Ehab Fathey, and Joyce, Ustina and Chris Gawargy, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Salah Potros. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 28th at 10:30 a.m. at the Virgin Mary and Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church, 87 Benham St., Hamden.
