Sonia Marie Martínez

Sonia Marie Martínez, 70 of New Haven died peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side. Sonia was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico on October 21, 1950, a daughter of the late Ursulina Cruz, and had resided in New Haven for more than forty years. She was a custodian for the City of New Haven School System for more than thirty years. Sonia is survived by two sons, José E. Rivera and Luís A. (Jeannie Pagán) Rivera of New Haven, eight grandchildren, Louis Adamo, DeAndre Pagán, Milly, Armando, José, Jeanine and Justin Rivera, and Angel Loiza, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by one sister, Elba Martínez, and three brothers, Luís, Alfredo and Israel Martínez. Sonia's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, May 23rd from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
