Sharon Agnes Guillemette, 67, of Stamford, CT, died peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023. She was born on May 8, 1956 in New Haven, CT. Sharon was dearly loved by those who knew her and touched innumerable lives with her warmth, good humor, and advocacy for those in need. She turned her own personal tragedy into a public mission as she partnered with News 12 CT, and also Senator Richard Blumenthal to share her journey from sex traffic victim to counselor and advocate for those caught in a similar spiral of victimization and addiction. In recent years she was a committed spokesperson and volunteer for both the Partnership to End Human Trafficking and The Bridgeport Rescue Mission. She had also been an engaged member of Calvary Temple Christian Center in Bridgeport, as her Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Lindsay and Amy, siblings Robert Caruso of West Haven and Linda (Thomas) Brown of East Haven, and the family of her late brother Mark Steven Tibbetts who were especially dear to her. They are sister-in-law Lori Tibbetts and her children, Carter, Savannah, Olivia and Zak, and Sharon's great-niece Ariella Dufour, all of Hamden.
A memorial service celebrating Sharon's life will be held on Sunday, August 27th at 5:00 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 150 Chapel St., Stamford, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sharon's honor to either The Bridgeport Rescue Mission or The Partnership to End Human Trafficking. The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven has been entrusted with arrangements. washingtonmemorialfh.com
