Shanice Mary Reyes, 27, of New Haven died suddenly on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, York Street Campus. Shanice was born in New Haven on December 9, 1994, the beloved daughter of Ruben Reyes of West Haven and Ruth Matos of New Haven, and was a lifelong New Haven resident. She was a 2012 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School of New Haven and had worked as a food server at McDonald's in the Westville section of New Haven for the past year. She had previously worked at Dunkin' Donuts for a year. Shanice is also survived by her cherished daughter Jaidalyz González, and her step-mother Catalina Matos of New Haven, a sister Iris Reyes of Meriden, a brother, Christian Reyes and his wife Korina of Kissimmee, FL, cousins Demetrius and Daniella Matos of North Haven, her companion Steven González, four loving nieces and nephews, Yaxiel and Zaynep Reyes and Jovi and Julian Flores, and many loving aunts, uncles and friends. Shanice's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
