Secondo Mark Scavino, 94, of Hamden, CT died peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband the late Theresa Dadio Scavino. Mark was born in New Haven, CT on May 22, 1929, a son of the late Secondo Casmiro and Aurelia Grillé Scavino, and had lived in West Haven for many years before moving to Hamden in 1974. He worked for Sikorsky Aircraft for thirty eight years, retiring in 1996, and had previously worked as a freight handler for the former New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Co. Mark was a proud Korean War Army Veteran, and a parishioner of the former St. Stephen Church of Hamden. He is survived by a daughter, Theresa Dadio of Clinton, a son, Anthony (Lisa) Cacace of Northford, three grandchildren, Marissa, Megan and Mark Cacace, and three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Carmine and Gianna Annicelli. He was predeceased by his sister Yolanda Dufresne and his brother Edward L. Scavino. Mark’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 16th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, February 17th at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
