Santos González Rivera

Santos González Rivera, 85, of Hamden, formerly of New Haven died peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Whitney Rehabilitation and Health Care, Hamden with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Segunda Vázquez. Santos was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico on April 17, 1937, a son of the late Modesto González and the late Maria Rivera, and had resided in New Haven for more than thirty years, before moving to Hamden two years ago. He was a maintenance person at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven for twenty eight years, retiring in 2001. Santos is survived by a daughter, Ana Maria González of New Haven, three sons, Juan González and David González of New Haven, and Rev. Santos González and his wife Paola García of Meriden, nineteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son Santiago González, two sisters, Hermina and Lyla González and a brother, Saro González. Santos' family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, April 10th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
