Ruth Ogle Meinsen, 92, of Hamden, CT died peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Malcolm H. Meinsen. Ruth was born in New Haven, CT on August 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Ives Ogle, and had resided in Hamden since 1968. She was a devoted school teacher at Ridge Road Elementary School, North Haven for twenty five years, retiring in 1992, and was a proud member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Lynn Cooper and Nancy (John) Donlan of Hamden, seven grandchildren, Ryan (Annie) Cooper, Krista (John, Jr.) Rubino, Ilanna Minck, Kathryn (Ryan) MacDonald, Kally (Bryan) Grandieri, Jay Michael Donlan and Kelly Donlan and three great-grandchildren, Sophia Cooper and twins Emma and Leo Rubino. She is also survived by her longtime family friend Carl “Buddy” Yohans. She was predeceased by her sister Nancy Lacy. Ruth’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, March 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven, followed by a graveside service at 11:45 a.m. at Beaverdale Memorial Park, 90 Pine Rock Ave., New Haven where Ruth and her husband Malcolm will be interred in the Meinsen family plot.
