Ruperto Morales

Ruperto Morales, 84 of New Haven died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of thirty eight years to Josefina Morales. Ruperto was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico on November 24, 1936, one of fourteen children of the late José Morales and the late Gina Castro. He had lived in Brooklyn, NY for several years before moving to New Haven thirty four years ago. Ruperto was an Aircraft Parts Technician at Turbine Components Corp. of Branford for more than twenty five years, retiring in 1997.  In addition to his wife Josefina, Ruperto is survived by seven daughters, Maria (Tom) Sheriden of Toms River, NJ, Elizabeth (Al) Grinaldi of Jackson, NJ, Glenda Carriel and her life partner Dwayne Greene of New Haven, Dianna (Raul) Burgos of Tampa, FL, Dianalis Morales and her life partner Jayson Laboy of New Haven, Melissa Morales and her fiancé Kenneth Griffin of New Haven and Estefanie (Ivan) Soto of East Haven, one son, José Morales and his wife Erica Shaw Morales of Staten Island, NY, eight grandchildren, Michael Grinaldi, Jeremy Morales, Raul Burgos, Jr., Julianna Laboy, Addison Jiménez, Kendall Soto, and Kennedy and Melody Griffin. He is also survived by ten brothers and sisters, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ruperto's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
