Ruben Rios, Jr., 50, of Hamden, CT, formerly of New Haven, CT died suddenly at his home on Thursday, January 1, 2026. He was the beloved husband of LaKiesha Cloney. Ruben was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 29, 1975, a son of Luz Delia Negrón Torres of Hamden and the late Ruben Rios, Sr. and resided in New Haven for thirty years before moving to Hamden twenty years ago. Ruben was a 1993 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School, and for the past seven years was a driver for Ryde Share. He liked playing video games, fishing and listening to all kinds of music. Ruben was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand, and he especially loved being a pop pop to his goddaughter Lexi's kids.
He is also survived by two daughters, Daja Nicholl Rios of Meriden and Jazlynn Monet Rios of Hamden, a son, Ruben Alonzo Rios, III of Waterbury, five sisters, Jennifer (Omar) Olivieri of Meriden, Luz Delia Rios of North Haven, Arelys MacGregor of Massachusetts and Mary Rios and Esther (Joel) Fernández of New Bedford, MA, one brother, Anthony Rios of Massachusetts, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ruben’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, January 4th from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Burial will be private. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
