Roy A. Bogue, Sr., 70 , a North Haven resident, passed away peacefully at his home after a long illness on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. He was born on November 5th in New Haven, CT to the late Roy Y. Bogue and Lula Mae Bogue. He was the beloved husband of fifty years to Linda C. Bogue. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his daughter Kimberly (Brian) Haeckel, his son Roy A. Bogue, Jr., his sister Lorretta (Michael) Vastarelli, his adoring grandchildren Julia, Jake and Jason Haeckel, and numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, William and Richard Bogue. Roy was a proud Marine, entering the Vietnam draft early and willingly. He later owned his own flooring company with his nephew Richard, and finished his workin days in the union. He was known as the teacher/patriarch of the family that everyone looked up to. Brothers, nephews, and their sons were the beneficiaries of his knowledge. Besides being with family and friends, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time at home with his wife, working in the yard, and playing with his pet Shih Tzu, Bailey. In his earlier years, he enjoyed entering family bowling leagues, father & son bowling leagues, and fishing. He was a talented wood craftsman with a love for the outdoors, gardening, animals and shopping, especially at Home Depot.
