Rosemarie (Anastasio) Sferes

Rosemarie (Anastasio) Sferes, 84, of Wallingford, CT died peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, York St. Campus with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of fifty two years to George J. Sferes.

Rosemarie was born in New Haven, CT on April 19, 1940, a daughter of the late Ralph and Rose (Marone) Anastasio, and had resided in Wallingford for the past forty eight years. She was a longtime former employee of Sheehan High School. Rosemarie enjoyed summers in Maine, spending time with family on holidays, enjoying shows at the casinos, dancing and motorcycle rides. She LOVED lobster! In addition to her husband George, Rosemarie is survived by a son, Nicholas R. (Julie) Sferes of Windham, ME, a grandson, Nicholas J. Sferes, nieces and nephew Andrea Markowski-Marino, Karen Markowski and David (Sally) Markowski, Jr., and great-nieces Erica, Olivia and Marisa Markowski and Brianna and Stephanie Marino. She was predeceased by her sister Carolyn Markowski and her brother-in-law David Markowski, Sr.

Rosemarie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, March 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 25th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
