Rose D'Addio Avitable, 79, of Northford died peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. Rose was born in New Havn on December 18, 1943, a daughter of the late James and Rose Ferraiuolo D'Addio and had resided in Nortford for the past fifty years. In her early life she was a hairdresser for various area salons and also worked in the microbiology department at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She loved being with her family mostly. In addition to her husband Fred, Rose is survived by two sons, Edward Avitable and his wife Maureen of Stratford and Vincent Avitable and his wife Patricia of Hamden, two sisters, Barbara D'Addio of Northford and Dorothy Blake and her husband Carl of Orange County, CA, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Raymond and Italia Avitable of North Haven, her "Pride and Joys", grandchildren Brendan and Kevin Avitable, and lots of nieces and nephews. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Therese Church (St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish), 555 Middletown Ave., North Haven on Monday, January 9th for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
