Rosalía Chávez Soria, 54, of Norwalk, Connecticut died peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at St. Mary Hospital, Waterbury with her loving family by her side, Rosalía was born in Apurimac, Perú on September 4, 1971, a daughter of Antonio Chávez and Simona Soria of Lima, Perú. She moved to Lima as a child, and later lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Madrid, Spain before moving to Norwalk in 2018. She was employed for the past eight years by Masters Remodeling, LLC., of Norwalk.
Rosalía was a very hard working person, and helped a lot of people. She very much loved her grandchildren, and always wanted to return to Perú to see her parents and siblings. She went to Iglesia Jesucristo de Los Santos de Los Ultimos Días, and her last wish was for her daughters to be together and achieve their goals.
In addition to her parents, Rosalía is survived by two daughters, Lucero Gurmendi and Valeria Gurmendi of Norwalk, one son, Billy Gurmendi of Madrid, one sister Julia Chávez and four brothers, Antonio, José, Santos and Leo Chávez, all of Lima and her two beloved grandchildren Fabian and Yamir Gurmendi.
Funeral services for Rosalia were private and were entrusted to the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
Rosalía Chávez Soria, de 54 años, de Norwalk, Connecticut, falleció pacificamente en el Hospital St. Mary, Waterbury, Connecticut con su amorosa familia a su lado. Rosalía nació en Apurimac, Perú, el 4 de septiembre de 1971, hija de Antonio Chávez y Simona Soria de Lima. Se mudó a Lima cuando era niña, y luergo vivió en Buenos Aires, Argentina y Madris, España antes de trasladardse a Norwalk en 2018.
Rosalia era una persona muy trajabadora, y ayaudava muchas personas. Quería mucho a sus nietos, y siempre quizo regresar a Perú a ver sus padres y sus hermanos. Iva a La Iglesia de "Jesucristo de Los Santos de Los Últimos Días", y su último deseo fue que sus hijas estuvieran juntas y logren sus metas.
Además de sus padres, Rosalía deja dos hijas, Lucero Gurmendi y Valeria Gurmendi de Norwalk, un hijo Billy Gurmendi de Madrid, una hermana Julia Chávez y cuatro hermanos, Antonio, José, Santos y Leo Chávez, todos de Lima, y sus queridos nietos Fabian y Yamir Gurmendi.
