Ronald Orlando Mattei

Ronald Orlando Mattei, 66, of North Haven died peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Midstate Medical Center, Meriden with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Judith Wallace Mattei. Ron was born in New Haven on May 10, 1956, a son of the late Orlando and Evelyn Nicolella Mattei and was a lifelong North Haven resident.  He owned and operated the former R & M Cleaning Service for more than thirty years, and along with his wife had most recently owned and operated J & R Cleaning Service of North Haven. Ron was a volunteer firefighter and fire police for North Haven for the past forty five years. In addition to his wife Judy, Ron is survived by a step-daughter, Christina Gough and her husband Zach of North Branford, a step-son, Anthony Wallace of North Haven,  three grandchildren, Ben, Andrew and Logan Gough, a niece, Lisa Landino, and many loving relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Phyllis Landino and his brother, Michael Mattei. Ron’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, July 23rd at Hope Christian Church, 211 Montowese Avenue, North Haven from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., the Reverend James Detweiler officiating.
