Rolando Martínez, 50, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Monday, August 21, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Rolando was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico on August 4, 1973, a son of Cruz and Elizabeth Cotto Martínez of Tampa, FL, and was a lifelong New Haven resident. Rolando was a 911 dispatcher of the City of New Haven for the past nine years, and was a 1991 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School. Besides his parents, he is survived by a daughter Tali Martínez and a son Julian Martínez, both of Naugatuck, a sister Maricruz Martínez of New Haven, a grandson, Curhone S. Baldwin, Jr. of Naugatuck, a niece, a nephew, a great-niece, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Eduardo Martínez. Rolando's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 24th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, August 25th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
