It is with profound sadness that  we announce the passing of our beloved son, Rodney Rivera, aged 58, of New Haven, CT on March 22, 2025. Rodney passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 26th, 1966. He was a devoted father, son, brother and friend, known for his kind spirit, warm heart, and unwavering support for those he loved.

Before his illness, Rodney was an employee with S.J. Services, where he was valued for his dedication and work ethic. He was a lifelong resident of New Haven, where he made a lasting impact through his work, his passions and most importantly, his relationships with family and friends. Rodney had a special way of bringing joy to everyone he met, offering a listening ear and a kind word when they were needed most.

Rodney is survived by his cherished children, Karyzma Rivera-Pires (Haason Golf), Dominique Rivera, Ramya Rivera and Ivonee Rivera, his parents, William and Yolanda Rosario, his siblings, Michael Anthony Rivera and Jessica Rivera, his grandchildren, Londynn Adorno, Vance Pires, and Roman Warner, his grandmother, Asunción Rivera, his nieces, Brooke Aurora and Sienna Magriz, extended family members and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Kevin Cllazo, father Hector Rivera and his grandparents Pedro Rivera, Felicia Morales and Wilson Morales.

Rodney was a passionate fan of the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved playing bocce and glof, and he had a deep appreciation for R&B and jazz. Rodney will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. HIs legacy of love, kindness and resilience will continue to live in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rodney's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 27th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave,, North Haven. His funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Friday, March 28th at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church (St. Elizabeth of the Trintiy Parish), 44 Washington Ave., North Haven. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice. washingtonmemorialfh.com
