Roberto Acevedo, 82 of New Haven died peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Cristina Acierto Acevedo. Roberto was born in Manila, Philippines on January 30, 1938, a son of the late Vidal and Vicenta Toribo Acevedo. He came to the United States in 2003, and had resided in New Haven for the past seventeen years. He was an industrial technician at International Provisions in Hamden for four years, retiring in 2007. Roberto is survived by two daughters, Maricris (Christopher) Calderón and Khristine (Albert) Moral of Caloocan, Philippines, two sons, Vidal (Sabina) Acevedo of New Haven and Arnold (Josephine) Acevedo of Caloocan, a daughter-in-law Ruth Acevedo of Bulaca, Philippines, eight grandchildren, Darrell Paul (Divine) Acevedo, Angel Paul Acevedo, Mytchell Paul (Abigail) Acevedo, Angel Ariel Acevedo, Aesha Danica Acevedo, John Jerick Acevedo, Robert Adrian Acevedo, and Kristine Nicole Moral, and five great grandchildren, Ayrshire Miguell Acevedo, Deondree Apollo Acevedo, Ralph Zeus Acevedo, Heiren Gaia Acevedo, and Luke Aidan Acevedo. He was predeceased by a daughter, Ada Acevedo, a son, Romero Acevedo, and eight brothers and sisters. Roberto's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, January 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Monday, January 4th at 10:00 a.m. Roberto's funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. and proceed to All Saints Cemetery, North Haven for interment. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
