Robert Allan Brown, Sr.

Robert Allan Brown, Sr., 86 of North Haven, CT died peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Martha Elizabeth Simmons Brown. Mr. Brown was born in New Haven, CT on August 17, 1937, a son of the late Harriet Lloyd Brown and the late Clifford A. Reid. He grew up in North Haven, and upon returning from the military resided in New Haven for twenty years, before returning to North Haven forty years ago. Mr. Brown was a New Haven Police Officer from 1977-1986, and also worked for as a manager for the United Illuminating Co. of New Haven for thirty five years, retiring in 2001. He was a proud U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force Veteran, and a member of the Hamden Fish & Game Club. Mr. Brown is survived by two sons, Robert Allan (Carleen Bird-Brown) Brown of Middletown, CT and Marc E. (Julie McCleary-Brown) Brown of Seattle, WA, five grandchildren, Samantha Brown, Sydney Brown, Evan McCleary Brown, Jaden McCleary Brown and Alex McCleary Brown, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Josey and Charlotte Vaughn, and one brother, Charles Johnson.

A graveside service with Military Honors will take place on Monday, May 20th at 12:00 p.m. at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave., North Haven. The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven has been entrusted with arrangements. washingtonmemorialfh.com
