Richard Gotay, 57, of New Haven, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at his residence.
Richard was born in New Haven, August 4, 1964, a son of Jose Luis Gotay and the late Dalila Montes and had been a lifelong New Haven resident. He was currently employed in the Dietary Dept. of the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Haven.
In addition to his father, Richard is survived by his five loving children Janira Torres, Mary Gotay, Samuel (Vanessa) Gotay, Joshua (Liz Muniz) Gotay and Julianna Gotay; 9 grandchildren Joely Torres, Israel Gonzalez, Armando Torres, Jo-leigh Gotay, Jayden Gotay, Aliyanna Gotay, Jacob Vazquez, Scincere Gotay and Jada Lynn Gotay; his sisters; and brothers Robert Gotay, Ana Gotay, Billy Maldonado, Maria D. (Arasel) López, Lissette Gotay, Jose Luis Gotay Jr. and Bruce Dest; and several nieces; and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Abraham Rodriguez.
Richard’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave, North Haven, Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. His funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Thursday, November 4th, at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, (St. Francis of Assisi Church), 397 Ferry Street, New Haven.
