Ricardo Santiago, Jr.

Ricardo “Rick” Santiago, Jr., 61 of East Haven, formerly of New Haven died peacefully on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side.  Rick was born in New Haven on October 5, 1959, a son of Ricardo Santiago, Sr. and Mary Wilmot Santiago of New Haven. He was a cook at Casa Otoñal of New Haven for the past three years. He previously worked selling paper products in New Haven, and was an avid NY Yankees fan. Besides his parents, Rick is survived by a daughter, Kaitlin Marie Krishak of Milford, four sons, Jamar Borrero of New Haven, Chaz Yopp of Hamden, Ricardo (Sara) Santiago, III of Southbury and Jodicee A. Santiago of East Haven, six sisters, Theresa Gambrell, Donna Santiago, Debra Rodríguez, Yasmin Rivera, Dawn (Santos) Santiago and Kelly Santiago, all of New Haven, two brothers, John Vitello, III of Uncasville and Hector Santiago of New Haven, his life partner Claire Hutchings of New Haven, eight grandchildren, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Jodi Santiago.  Rick’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 19th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
