Rev. Saul Santana, 81, of Worcester, MA died peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Brigham & Women"s Hospital, Boston, MA. He was the beloved husband of Virginia Vélez Santana. Rev. Santana was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico on March 28, 1941, a son of the late Crisostomo Santana and the late Ana Vélez, and had resided in Worcester for the past sixteen years. He was an ordained Pentecostal Minister, and was a man of God who accepted Christ over fifty years ago. God called him to preach the gospel from Bible College with a Bachelor's in Biblical Studies. God allowed him to travel to different places in the U.S., and islands like the Dominican Republic, and countries like Mexico to preach. He was also a pastor for many years. He pastored in Philadelphia, PA, New Haven, CT, Rochester, NY and Cleveland, OH.. He was a community pastor who loved people. In addition to his wife Virginia, Rev. Santana is survived by six daughters, Marilyn Aponte and Olga Santana of New Haven, CT, Elizabeth Fraticelli Santana of Providence, RI, Rebecca Fraticelli Santana of Orlando, FL and Ithamar and Esther Santana of Worcester, five sons, José Santana of New Haven, Moises Santana of San Juan, PR, Javier Santana of Providence, Magdiel (Denys) Santana of Davenport, FL and Rev. Moises (Luz) Santana of Philadelphia, eight sisters, Elizabeth (Francisco Arias) Santana of Ponce, PR, Noemi (Miguel Torres) Santana of Boston, Aseneth Santana of Rochester, Ruth Santana and Tamara (Rubén Acévedo) Santana of Adjuntas, Meleida and Rebecca Santana of Long Island, NY and Mildred Santana of New Haven, five brothers, Rev. Crisostomo Santana, Rev. Josue (Ruth Ann Salcedo) Santana and Samuel (Maria Marcucci) Santana of Adjuntas, Rubén (Nancy Hernández) Santana of Long Island and Oscar (Wanda López) Satana of Lowell, MA, thirteen grandchildren, and many many loving great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two sisters, Olfa Santana Torres and Dorca Santana, and four brothers, Isidoro, Eloy, Eliud and Elias Santana. Rev. Santana's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Una Iglesai Para la Ciudad (A Church for the City), 99 East Pearl St., New Haven, CT. A funeral service will begin at 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will take place at the church on Saturday, December 17th at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
