Rev. Samuel Rodríguez Alejandro

Reverend Samuel Rodríguez Alejandro, 71, of Hamden died peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Myriam Rivera Rodríguez. Rev. Rodríguez was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico on March 7, 1951, a son of the late Savino Rodríguez and the late Elena Alejandro and had resided in Hamden for the past thirty five years. He had previously lived in Hartford for ten years. He was a sheet metal worker for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft of East Hartford for thirty years, retiring in 2005, and was an ordained Pentecostal Minister for the past thirty years and Pastor of Iglesia de Dios, Inc. of New Haven for the past twenty eight years. In addition to his wife Myriam, Rev. Rodríguez is survived by a daughter, Myriam (Reginald Higgins, Jr.) Rodríguez of New Haven, two sons, Samuel (Shana) Rodríguez, II and Anibal (Maria) Rodríguez of Hamden, three brothers, Eduino (Olga) Rodríguez, Edalias (Sonia) Rodríguez of East Hartford and Enrique (Carmen) Rodríguez of Hartford, four grandchildren, Samuel (Marlene) Rodríguez, III of North Haven, Reginald Higgins, III, Antonio Rodríguez and Gabriela Rodríguez of Hamden, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rev. Rodríguez’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, October 20th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Iglesia de Dios, Inc., 1313 Main Street, Hartford with a funeral service to take place during visitation. A prayer service will take place at the church on Friday, October 21st at 10:00 with burial to follow in Centerville Cemetery, Washington Ave., Hamden.
