Rafaela Cruz Valles

Rafaela Cruz Valles, 89, of East Haven, CT died peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. Rafaela was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico on October 29, 1933, a daughter of the late Hipolito Cruz and the late Arcadia Valles. She moved to New Haven in 1978, and had resided in East Haven since 2021. Rafaela is survived by three daughters, Zaida (José Luís Mercado) González of East Haven, and Maria Milagros González and Pascuala González of New Haven, three sons, Angel Luís González and Samuel Cruz of East Haven and Marco Antonio González of Jamaica Queens, NY, one sister, Tilza Rosario and one brother, Ofren (Griselle Dinora Cruz) Cruz of Guayama, twenty grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carmen Lidia González, two sons, Angel Eugene González and Geraldo Junior González, and a grandson, Douglas John González. Rafaela's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, September 17th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, September 18th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
