Rafael Fuentes Pérez

Rafael Fuentes Pérez, 89, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus on Friday, October 27, 2023 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Luz Maria Jiménez Fuentes. Rafael was born in Corosal, Puerto Rico on December 11, 1933, one of sixteen children of the late Natividad Pérez and had resided in New Haven for the past fifty five years. He worked for the City of New Haven, Dept. of Public Works for several years in the late 1960's to early 1970's, and then worked as a machine operator at Circuit Wise of North Haven for over fifteen years, retiring in 1987. Raphael is survived by two daughters, Madeline Fuentes of Meriden and Hally Fuentes of Wallingford, one son, Rafael (Wanda) Fuentes, Jr. of New Haven, six grandchildren, Bryan Fuentes, Rafael Joel Fuentes, Ashely N. Fuentes, Mark Padilla, Hally Padilla and Joshua A. Aponte, nine great-grandchildren, Jayden, Carmelo, Marchelo, Alberto, J'Dalis, Avion, D'Vine, Dalis and Koby, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Everyone is invited to join the Fuentes family for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church (Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish), 397 Ferry St., New Haven.
