Pedro Vázquez Lugo

Pedro Vázquez Lugo, 73, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Alba Vega. Pedro was born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico on October 26, 1951, a son of the late Sergio Vázquez and the late Estela Lugo, and had resided in Sabana Grande for most of his life before moving to New Haven more than twenty years ago. While in Puerto Rico, Pedro worked in the construction industry for many years. Pedro was a joyous individual with an infectious laugh, a great sense of humor, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends with his jokes and costumes.

In addition to his wife Alba, Pedro is survived by a daughter, Carmen Yeliza Vázquez Cruz of Providence, RI, three sons, Pedro Luís Ayala, Pedro José Vázquez Vega and Pedro Angel Vázquez Vega, all of New Haven, one sister, Lidia Vázquez Lugo, one brother, Sergio Vázquez Lugo, both of Sabana Grande, seventeen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers.

Pedro's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home during visitation time. Burial will be private. washingtonmemorialfh.com
