Pablo Ervin Velázquez

Pablo Ervin Velázquez, 76 of New Haven died peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Batíz Velázquez. Pablo was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on January 15, 1946, a son of the late Francisco Velázquez and the late Ines Velázquez Bello, and had resided in New Haven for the past sixty years. He was a painter and later Tool Crib Manager at General Dynamics, Electric Boat of Groton for thirty four years. He then worked in the maintenance department at Bayer Pharmaceuticals, West Haven for fifteen years, retiring in 2010. He is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Velázquez and Inez (Edgar Jiménez) Velázquez of New Haven, and Betzaida (Jorge) Nieves of Waterbury, five sons, José R. Velázquez and Ervin Velázquez of New Haven, Hector L. (Meche) Velázquez of Norwich, Bernabe (Ivelisse de Jesús) of East Haven and Luís Tony Velázquez of West Haven, two sisters, Geralda "Yaya" (José) Arroyo of Queens, NY and Mayda (Jon Pender) Velázquez of San Juan, PR, four brothers, Ruben and Efren Velázquez of Ponce, PR, Hector "Tito" Velázquez of Lancaster, PA and Heriberto (Teresa) Velázquez of New Haven, thirty one grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. Pablo's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, January 31st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
