Otto González Alicéa Obituary

Otto D. González Alicéa, 70, of Hamden and Bayamón, Puerto Rico, formerly of New Haven and East Haven died suddenly at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Sunday, October 9, 2022. He was the beloved husband of forty seven years to Celeste López Pérez González. Otto was born in Bayamón on September 3, 1952, a son of the late Tomas González and the late Josefa Alicéa. He had resided in New Haven and East Haven for much of his life. For the past thirteen years he had resided in both Hamden and Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Otto was a self-employed mason for the past twenty five years, and he loved to cook. He was a proud U.S. Army Vietnam Era Veteran. In addition to his wife Celeste, Otto is survived by two daughters, Anna (Samuel) Maldonado of West Greenwich, RI and Rosa “Lety” (Vicente) Cardona of Manatí, Puerto Rico, two sons, Raúl (Edna) Cedeño of Hamden and Otto D. (Olga) González of Doral, FL, three sisters, Blanca (William Vélez) González of Manatí, Edeswinda González of Fajardo, PR and Mariselis (Wilson) Rosa of New Windsor, NY, five brothers, Francisco “Paco” González and Tomas “Teto” González of Lowell, MA, Wilfredo “Willie” (June) González of White Plains, NY, Victor Manuel González of Manatí and Antonio “Toño González of Agawam, MA, eight grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Idania González. Otto’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, October 17th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home during visitation time. Otto’s funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Tuesday, October 18th at 11:00 a.m. for a graveside service with military honors which will take place at 12:00 p.m. at the CT Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
