Orlando Machicote González

Orlando Machicote González, 84, of New Haven died peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Elba Machicote Hernández. Orlando was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico on January 18, 1939, a son of the late Joaquín Machicote and the late Flora González, and had resided his entire life in Carolina before moving to New Haven twelve years ago. While in Puerto Rico, Orlando worked in the construction industry. Besides his wife Elba, Orlando is survived by three sons, Luís Machicote Hernández and his wife Leialee de la Cruz of New Haven, Edgar Machicote Hernández and his wife Dali of McAllen, TX and Emanuel Machicote Hernández and his wife Asia McClain of Graham, NC, one sister, Carmen Gloria Machicote of Lincolnton, NC, one granddaughter, Odalis Machicote of McAllen, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Clara Courvertier, and three brothers, Abel, Santos and Hector Machicote. Orlando's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, February 18th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be private. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
