Orazio A ."Dino" Maturo, 87, of North Haven, CT died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Maria Iacobelli Maturo. Orazio was born in Cusano Mutri, Province of Benevento, Italy on June 30, 1936, a son of the late Federico and Maria Assunta Sasso Maturo. He migrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina where he resided for seven years before settling in North Haven in 1962. He was the Shipping & Receiving Manager at the Platt LaBonia Co. of North Haven for more than forty years, retiring in 2003. Orazio’s hobbies were gardening and wine making, but he cherished spending time with his family above all else. In addition to his wife Maria, Orazio is survived by two daughters, Maria (David) Ambrose and Lisa (Richard) Viscardi of Wallingford, one son, Federico (Laura) Maturo of Cheshire, one sister, Maria (Angelo) Leo of Casino, Australia, one brother, Joseph Maturo of North Haven, and six beloved grandchildren, David (Michelle) Ambrose, Melissa (Stephen) DelVecchio, Kristen (Sean) Douglass, Richard (Chrissy) Viscardi, Michael Viscardi and Olivia Maturo. He was predeceased by his brother Angelo Maturo. Orazio’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 19th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. His funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Wednesday, September 20th at 9:40 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church (St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish), 44 Washington Ave., North Haven.
