Nancy Jeanette Caballero, 62, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at her home on Monday, October 13, 2025. Nancy was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on July 15, 1963, a daughter of the late Silvestre Caballero and the late Maria Maldonado. Nancy moved to New Haven in 1966, and resided in the city for thirty eight years. She moved to Spring Hill, FL in 2004 and resided there for nineteen years, returning to New Haven in 2023.
Nancy was a phlebotomist at Tampa General Hospital and later Oak Hill Hospital in Brookville, FL for seven years. She owned and operated Q Fiesta Place Party Store in Spring Hill for three years. While she owned Q Fiesta she also worked at St. Luke's Cataract & Laser Center in Tarpon Springs, FL for ten years. Before moving to Spring Hill, Nancy was a secretary and later claims processor at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of North Haven.
Nancy was a loving soul with a huge heart. She was devoted to her family and friends, whom she dearly loved, and would give anything she had to help anyone in need. Nancy had an adventurous spirit and loved food! She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Nancy is survived by three aunts, Epifania Vega of North Haven, Rosa Ojeda of New Haven and Genoveva Hernández of Johnston, RI two uncles, Juan (Carmen) Hernández and Pablo (Nereida) Hernández of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, and many loving cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her step-father Rosario Maldonado, three aunts, Margarita, Yeya and Eneida Hernández, and one uncle, Victor Hernández.
Nancy's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, October 19th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Monday, October 20th at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church (Blessed Michael McGivney Parish), 397 Ferry St., New Haven.
