Migdalia Peña, 67, of New Haven, CT died peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, York St. Campus with her loving family by her side. Migdalia was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico on March 31, 1957, a daughter of the late Julio Peña and the late Elisa Rivera, and was a lifelong New Haven resident. She was a Certified Nurse's Aid for Meriden Health & Rehabilitation Center for many years, retiring in 2020. Migdalia is survived by five sisters, Aida (Angel) Guevara of Tampa, FL, Ana (Angel) Figueroa and Daisy Peña Rivera of New Haven, Grace (Hector) Rivera of Lutz, FL and Nancy (Gerardo) Mejias of Meriden, two brothers, Julio "Papa" (Lydia) Peña of New Haven and Epifanio (Nancy) Peña of Hamden, and many loving nieces and nephews, including her two devoted nieces Julisa Rivera and Nelani Mejias. She was predeceased by three brothers, Heriberto, José Ramón and Edwin Peña.
Migdalia's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, January 21st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 22nd at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
