Maureen Frances (Gilson) Kenney

Maureen Frances Gilson Kenney, 75, of East Hampton, CT died suddenly at her home on Sunday, March 5, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Herman Kenney. Maureen was born in New Haven, CT on April 30, 1947, a daughter of the late Joseph and Viola Frederickson Gilson. Maureen grew up in New Haven and lived in Meriden for eighteen years before residing in East Hampton for the past seven years. She previously lived in East Haven and Hamden for many years, and was a 1965 graduate of Hillhouse High School in New Haven. She was a supervisor for Connecticut Direct Mail of North Haven for many years. She loved all animals, but had a passion for horses which she raised and worked with for many years. Maureen also loved the water and, and enjoyed living on Lake Poctopaug in East Hampton. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Aquino of Meriden and Kristina DeLucia of East Haven, four step-sons, Robert Kenney of East Hampton, John (Charlene) Kenny and Kyle Kenney of West Haven, and David (Susan) Kenney of Florida, one brother, Raymond Gilson of Meriden, five grandchildren, Joscelyn Kruger, Alexander, Margaret and Philip Nastri and Amanda Ercolani, nine great-grandchildren, Christian, Jacob, Rebecca, Tyler, Arianna, Aubrey, Jeremiah, Mia and Jae, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her first husband Edward DeLucia, son Edward DeLucia and brother, Joseph Gilson. Maureen's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, March 13th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
