Mary Ellen (Eastman) Sutphin

Mary Ellen (Eastman) Sutphin, 80, of North Haven, CT died peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Bobby Lee Sutphin. Mary Ellen was born in New Haven, CT on April 5, 1944, a daughter of the late Harold and Helen(McCarthy) Eastman, and had resided in Ansonia for several years before moving to North Haven in 1981. She was a dietary aid at the former Winthrop Healthcare Center/Atrium Plaza of New Haven for thirty years, retiring in 2004. Mary Ellen is survived by a daughter, Helen L. Sutphin, and a son, Bobby Lee (Melissa) Sutphin, Jr. of North Haven. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Lee Sutphin, a sister Patricia Avery and three brothers, Russell Tucker, John Eastman and Harold Eastman.

A funeral service for Mary Ellen will take place on Saturday, July 13th at 2:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Visitation time will begin after the funeral service from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
