Marilyn Elliott Jaqua, 90 of Branford, formerly of East Haven died peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 3, 2021. She was the beloved wife of sixty five years to the late Warren G. Jaqua. Marilyn was born in Glens Falls, NY on April 8, 1931, a daughter of the late Clark and Barbara Bander Elliott, and had resided in East Haven for more than sixty years before moving to Branford two years ago. She taught the 4th grade at Overbrook Elementary School in East Haven for thirty five years, retiring in 1988. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from the former State Teacher’s College (S.C.S.U.) of New Haven in 1954. Marilyn and Warren traveled extensively, and visited 48 of the 50 states. They loved to go on cruises, and their favorite destination was Hawaii. She is survived by her sister Adrienne Schabel and her husband Albert of Northford, her nephew Alan Schabel and his wife Lisa of Durham, and her niece Lisa Winch and her husband Paul of Westbrook. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Cemetery, 58 River St., East Haven, the Rev. Scott Morrow officiating.
