Maricela Alvárez Rosa

Maricela Alváerz Rosa, 41 of New Haven died peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with her loving family by her side. Maricela was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on January 11, 1979, a daughter of Margarita Rosa Quidley of New Haven and the late Eleuterio Alvárez, and had resided in New Haven for the past thirty eight years. She is also survived by two sons, Cesar Antonio Jones and Sincere Lee Rosa of New Haven, one daughter, Amari Shavonne Lee of Charlotte, NC, six sisters, Marta, Priscila and Elba Alvárez of New Haven, Zaida Rivera of Virginia Beach, VA, Diana Alvárez of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico and Marisol Alvárez of Loiza, Puerto Rico, five brothers, Rafael Rivera and Josue Alvárez of New Haven, Juan Rivera of Wallingford, Justo Pastor Rivera of Buffalo, NY, and Pedro Luís Alvárez of Boston, six nieces, Deborah R., Bianca M. and Desire Alvárez, Marnelly R. Smith, Margarita Rodriguez, and Zaida Sloan, and three nephews, José Rivera, Luís Pizarro and Jonathan Alvárez. She was predeceased by one brother, Angel Luís Rivera. Maricela's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 4th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m., the Rev. Joel Díaz officiating. Burial will be private. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
