Maria I. Vásquez

Maria Izaguirre Vásquez, 75, of East Haven, CT died peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side on Monday, September 4, 2023. Maria was born in Managua, Nicaragua on September 25, 1947, a daughter of the late Felix Vásquez and the late Maria Sotelo Vásquez. She had resided in Managua for most of her life before emigrating to East Haven in 1991. Maria is survived by three daughters, Claramina Izaguirre of East Haven, Mayra (Didier) Leglatin of France and Sonia (Edwin) Vargas of New Haven, two sons, Douglas Izaguirre and Bernabe (Evelyn) Izaguirre of East Haven, four sisters, Silvia (Rafael) Orosco of Managua ,Juana Francisca (Omar Ocampo) Vásquez of Miami, FL, and Cruz Antonia (Elias Corona) Vásquez and Angela Vásquez of New Haven, nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by three brothers, Felix, Juan and Carlos Vásquez. Maria's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, September 10th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, September 11th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
