Maria Socorro Mel

Maria Socorro Meléndez López, 85, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Maria was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on May 9, 1939, a daughter of the late Felix Meléndez and the late Salome López and had resided in New Haven for the past forty five years. She is survived by three sisters, Milagros and Elsie Juarbe and Maria V. Díaz of New Haven, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends, including her special niece Tanya (Jason Salgado) Díaz of New Haven.

Maria's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, October 16th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
