Maria (Hernández) Maldonado

Maria Hernández Maldonado, 83, of Spring Hill, FL., formerly of New Haven, CT died peacefully at her home on Friday, March 29, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Rosario Maldonado. Maria was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on November 5, 1940, a daughter of the late Juan Hernández and Justina Rodríguez, and had resided in New Haven for forty two years before moving to Spring Hill in 2008. She was a driver for Residence Inn, New Haven for several years until 2008. Maria is survived by her daughter Nancy Jennette Caballero of New Haven, three sisters, Genoveba Hernández of Johnston, RI, Rosalina Ojeda of New Haven and Epifania Vega of North Haven, two brothers, Juan (Carmen) Hernández and Pablo (Nereida) Hernández of Vega Baga, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by three sisters, Margarita and Ana Delia Hernández and Luz Bermúdez, and one brother, Victor Hernández. Maria's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, April 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Friday, April 5th at 9:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church (St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish), 44 Washington Ave., North Haven.
