Margaret L. Solecki of North Haven died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the age of 100 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Solecki, Sr. Margaret was born in New Haven on April 28, 1921, a daughter of the late James and Flora Testa LoRusso, and had lived in North Haven for seventy five years. She owned and operated the former M.L. Solecki Realty Agency of New Haven from 1964 until her retirement. She worked for the Connecticut State Legislature, and was a past member of the North Haven Inland-Wetlands Committee. Margaret was a long-time active parishioner of St. Mary Church of New Haven, and a member of the Dominican Society. Her family would like to extend gratitude to Attorney William Raccio and his staff for their compassion and assistance. Margaret is survived by her son Anthony J. Solecki, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of North Haven, her brother James LoRusso of Alabama, two grandsons, Brian Solecki and his wife Lisa, and Steven Solecki and his wife Stacy, four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Hayden and Madison, and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by three sisters, Nancy Silvestro, Faye LoRusso and Patricia Kapish, and four brothers, Frank, John, Anthony and Gennaro LoRusso. A Memorial Mass for Margaret will be celebrated on Monday, July 19th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 3110 Hillhouse Ave., New Haven. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
