Madeline Theresa DiStasio, 83, of Wallingford, CT, formerly of Northford, CT died peacefully at her home on Friday, August 11, 2023 after a battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert “Red” DiStasio. Madeline was born in New Haven, CT on September 19, 1939, a daughter of the late Peter and Louise Pizzorusso, and had lived in Wallingford for the past thirty two years. She had previously resided in Northford for many years. Madeline is the loving mother to her son Robert DiStasio, Jr. of Higganum, deceased son Louis DiStasio, his wife Valerie DiStasio of Northford, daughter Lisa DiStasio and son-in-law Mark Russell of Wallingford, four grand kids whom she adored, Ashley and Louis DiStasio of Northford and Chloe and Hunter DiStasio of Higganum, sister Esther Kosobiecki of Branford, brother Harry Pizzorusso of North Branford, sister-in-law Kathy Pizzorusso of North Branford and deceased brother-in-law Carl Kosobiecki. She loved her extended family of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and her dog Dolce. Madeline always looked forward to her Sunday dinners, making sauce, or a barbeque with family and friends. She belonged to the Branford Rec. Bowling League where she enjoyed Tuesday bowling day, then lunch with the girls. The DiStasio family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 16th from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Thursday, August 17th at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. Monica Church (St. Ambrose Parish), 1331 Middletown Ave., Northford. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
