Luz Delia Adorno, 81, of Hamden, CT, formerly of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford on Thursday, May 29, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of David Adorno. Luz was born in Patillas, Puerto Rico on July 24, 1943, a daughter of the late Isabel Cruz Torres and the late Regula Díaz, and had resided in the Fair Haven section of New Haven for more than thirty years before moving to Hamden eight years ago. Besides her husband David, Luz is survived by two daughters, Milagro (José Pabón) Adorno of Hamden and Ivelisse Adorno of New Haven, two sons, Pedro Ortíz and Gabriel Ortíz of Hamden, seven sisters, Marcelina “Milda” Cruz Díaz, Maximina “Maxi” Cruz, Agustina Cruz, Maria Eugenia “Genita” Cruz, Margarita “Mago” Cruz, Rosaura “Rosa” Cruz, and Ana Ivia “Ani” Cruz, three brothers, Moises “Man” Cruz, Isabelino “Belo” Cruz, and Emiliano Cruz, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one sister Balbina “Lucila” Cruz and one brother Otilio Cruz.
Luz’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, June 2nd from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Iglesia Pentecostal de Jesús Cristo Ebenezer, 2105 State St., Hamden. A funeral service will begin during visitation time. Burial will be private.
