Luz Elba Fuentes

Luz Elba Fuentes, 72, of New Haven, formerly of Loiza, Puerto Rico died peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 30, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Jesús Manuel Carrasquillo. Luz was born in Loiza, Puerto Rico on March 23, 1950, a daughter of the late Pedro Fuentes Quiñones and the late Esperanza de Jesús. She had lived in Loiza for most of her life before moving to New Haven five years ago. She is survived by two daughters, Luz A. Carrasquillo of Loiza and Idalys Carrasquillo and her husband Mario Javier Mejia of New Haven, one son, Jesús M. Carrasquillo and his wife Glenda Estrada of New Haven, one brother, Luís Fernando Fuentes and his wife Carmen Yanette Osorio of Loiza, six grandchildren, Jonsue, Yamil and Glen Manuel Carrasquillo, Kathira Correa, Oscarius Morales and Genesis Mejia, a great-granddaughter, Nyah Carrasquillo, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She ws predeceased by one sister, Maria Fuentes de Jesús and one brother, Pedro Fuentes de Jesús. Funeral services for Luz will take place in Loiza, Puerto Rico at a later date.
