Luís Madrid Richards

Luís Madrid Richards, 57, of Meriden, CT died suddenly at Hartford Hospital on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Zulma Matos. Luís was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on August 13, 1965, a son of the late José Madrid and the late Carmen Richards. He had resided in New Haven and West Haven for most of his life, twelve years in Orlando, FL and Meriden for the past three years. He was a truck driver for ten years with Santa Fuel of Bridgeport, and later Ashley Furniture Co. of South Carolina. Luís is survived by three daughters, Sheila (Jesús Monge) Carrasquillo of New Haven, Zaynith Carrasquillo of Meriden and Ashley Stokes of Greenville, SC, five sons, Daniel (Diana) Madrid of New Haven, Ruben Madrid of Gaithersburg, MD, Anthony Davis of Germantown, MD, Ryan Madrid of Alexandria, VA and Shawn Stephens of West Haven, one brother, Nelson (Vivian Cordero) Richards of New Haven, fifteen grandchildren, one great0grandson, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Luís' family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 11th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
