Luis A. Torres, Jr.

Luís A. Torres, 58, of Hamden, CT died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford on Sunday, August 6, 2023. he was the beloved husband of Marilyn Bonilla Torres. Luís was born in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico on January 6, 1965, a son of Ana Delia Santiago Torres of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico and the late Luís Torres, Sr. He had resided in Hamden for the past twenty five years, and had previously lived in New Haven for twenty seven years. Luís was a plumber for Main Enterprise, Inc. of Stratford for the past thirty seven years. He is also survived by his daughter Priscilla Torres of Hamden a son, Luís Ariel Torres, III of West Haven, three sisters, Zoraida Torres of Trujillo Alto, Delia (Pablo Santana) Torres of Adjuntas, PR and Maritza Torres of Tampa, FL, two brothers, Benjamin Torres of Trujillo Alto and Daniel Torres of Chelsea, MA, one granddaughter, Leilani Torres of New Haven, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Rosita Torres. Luís' family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 10th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Star of Jacob Christian Church (Iglesia Cristiana Estrella de Jacob), 506 Howard Ave., New Haven. A funeral service will begin at the church at 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will take place at the church on Friday, August 11th at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
